AI PROJECTSDON'T STALLON THE TECH

Most AI projects do not stall on the technology. They stall on adoption. Twin guides organisations in the funding sector through the shift to AI-driven working: the vision and the process on one side, people's behaviour on the other.

We do this from our own practice. We build an AI product for grant work ourselves and see every day where adoption succeeds and where it stalls. We bring that experience with us, whether you work with Twin or not.

The challenge

Introducing AI is a change challenge, not a technical one.

Across the sector, organisations struggle with AI adoption on four levels at once. Tackle only one and you will see it stall on the other three.

Organisation and processDo we fit AI into the processes we already have, or do the processes themselves need an overhaul?
IT and securityIs it secure, under which conditions, and how do we keep the guardrails from getting in the way of the work?
ManagementWhat do we actually expect: higher quality, better collaboration, more output with the same team?
EmployeesDoes it make my work easier and more enjoyable, is more expected of me, and why would I use it?
What we offer

Two sides, from one practice.

Many firms do either the strategy and the technology, or the training. Rarely both, and rarely from the same experience. We combine them, because one does not hold without the other.

AI-first

Vision, process and how to get there

The strategic side: where do you want to go, what does that mean for your workflow, and what do you need to get there.

  • Vision and directionWhat AI should deliver for your organisation, and what it explicitly should not. A direction that management and staff both stand behind.
  • Process designWhich steps in grant work change, where people keep the judgement and where AI does the groundwork.
  • Implementation adviceHow to roll it out, in what order, and which tooling fits when that knowledge is missing in-house. We advise, the implementation stays yours.
Behaviour

Training, workshops and coaching

The human side: learning to work and think differently, and keeping it up when the daily rush returns.

  • TrainingHands-on, on the participants' own grant work. Not a generic AI course, but practice on real files and schemes.
  • WorkshopsWorking out the new way of working with a team or department: agreements, quality standard, who does what.
  • Coaching and embeddingThe real work starts after the training. Short iterations per team, with a view of who uses it, for what, and where people drop off.
What we do not do
  • Not an implementation partner: we advise, we do not build or install
  • No generic AI course detached from grant work
  • No programme that stops at the training
  • No obligation to use Twin as a product
Who it's for

The same pain point, a different trigger.

Across the board it comes down to the same question: how do I adopt a different way of working and thinking. The urgency differs per organisation, and with it where we start.

Competition and time pressure

Grant consultancies

AI directly affects the business model of billable hours. The question is not whether, but how to deploy it without quality and client relationships suffering.

Governance and scale

Corporates and in-house grant teams

IT and security frameworks, multiple departments and a formal adoption process. Here it is about an approach that fits within the frameworks and still gets things moving.

Limited capacity

SMEs

Little time and little in-house knowledge. The question is practical: where do I start, what pays off first, and how do I keep it small.

How it works

From introduction to a way of working that lasts.

No standard programme. Every engagement starts with looking at how work is done today, and only ends when the new way of working continues without us.

01IntroductionWe hear where the friction is: in the process, in IT, in management or among the people doing the work. Usually in several places at once.
02Adoption scanHow people work today, and where it gets stuck. That determines whether the programme starts with vision and process, with training, or with both.
03Tailored programmeA combination of advice, training and workshops that fits the organisation. Short and concrete, with your own grant work as the material.
04EmbeddingCoaching per team and measuring what changes. So the new way of working stays in place when attention turns back to the deadlines.
Why Twin

Two things a standalone consultancy does not have.

Our own product experience: we know first-hand how adoption plays out in practice, at consultancies, corporates and research institutions. And knowledge of the funding sector: we know the schemes, the assessors and the pressure of a deadline.

The training is delivered in person by Twin's founder. That keeps the quality high and keeps what we say close to what we see every day.
